A Big Thank You To Bridget & Frank

We’d like to thank Bridget and Frank for all their hard work organizing Love Langton & Swanage Landers, respectively, over the years since they helped to found Litter-Free Purbeck in 2016. We should also not forget that they had both been organizing litter clearance in Purbeck well before that. As well as setting up and running Love Langton, Bridget set up and ran Swanage Beach Buddies for two years or so. For his part, Frank has been the driving force behind Swanage Army Link ‘s Dawn Patrol clearing up the A351 between Swanage and Wareham. Now they are both stepping back to concentrate on other commitments.

Can You Help Us?

We are now looking for volunteers to take over from Bridget and Frank. Can you help us to continue to clear the litter in Langton and Swanage on a regular basis? Here’s Bridget’s message:

“Our Love Langton group is looking for a voluntary co-ordinator(s) to organise and support our small and dedicated team of volunteer litter-pickers with their solo efforts and also with its twice yearly community litter pick. This role will get you out and about into our beautiful Purbeck countryside, introduce you to lots of volunteers and stakeholders and – importantly – does not take up a lot of time each week, especially if two people come forward who would like to share the role.  If you’re looking for a way to give something back to your local community, help protect our environment, gain experience leading volunteers and build relationships with stakeholders and partners, why not find out more?  Please email us at lovelangton@gmail.com.”

Frank’s message is similar, except that Swanage Landers complement the work of Swanage Beach Buddies by helping to keep the streets of Swanage clear of litter. This helps to prevent the litter finding its way to the beach and into the sea.

If you’d like to help, please contact Frank at: swanagelanders@herstoncross.co.uk

If you do come forward, we will of course support you until you can take the reins by yourself.
