A message from our friend Frank Roberts of the Swanage Army Link Dawn Patrol 8th August 2019

Frank Roberts 2019

I’m happy to report that the 14th A351 litter pick is now complete between Swanage -Stoborough roundabout; and all bags retrieved.

It’s amazing how quickly the tossers mess the place up again. Sometimes within minutes!!!!! Maybe they are joshing with us?🤣

Some interesting finds. 7 magnetic ‘L’ plates (please take them off, or they fly off at speeds of over 40mph(???)), a whole bicycle chain (did the cyclist not know it had dropped off?), usual bottles of piss, event signs (organisers please retrieve these post-event 👍) and a woman’s purse/15cards/cash etc etc; the usual ‘Monster’ cans and now CARLSBERG cans which is the new Woodyhyde-Afflington issue! The list goes on……

The next Dawn Patrol is due in December which will complete 4 years of keeping this main A351 Jurassic Coast access litter-free.
Even more important, we will have 4 years of consistent litter data too!

Massive thanks to new recruit Fergus Holland RN who joined me on Mon & Tue (5th & 6th August), and Simon Goldsack who was out today (8th August). Ben Tolley- joining the next session?? There are vacancies for safety aware folk who can get up at stupid O’clock – apply within!!
